“H-How long do you think you can keep this thing going for?” Lin risked a whisper, sparing Tenzin a fearful glance. He continued to stare at the rampaging Earthbender, cringing as she stomped an angry foot on the ground, causing the house to shake.
“Not much longer…” He hissed back, concentrating very hard on keeping the ball of air off the floor for as long as he could. Lin gulped.
“Well, Twinkletoes, if I go down, you’re going down with me.” She muttered, squeezing her eyes shut as the ball of air gave out. The two children collapsed onto the tile with a thud, and Toph whirled around instantaneously.
“If it isn’t my darling daughter.” She drawled menacingly, saunteering over to the shaking pre-teens.
“H-Hi Mother…” Lin responded meekly. There were only a few things in the world that could scare Lin Beifong, and her mom was one of them. Luckily, she had Tenzin with her-
She reached to grab his hand, but it wasn’t there.
The little bastard had bolted.

Things I would love people forever for if they made:
* Hot Fuzz Parody Starring Lin Bei Fong.
* Lonely Island’s Natalie Portman Rap Starring Asami. (Korra seems to suit it more, but after a little info on the story behind how the actual song came into being… I think it suits Asami way more now. XD)
* There was more, but I can’t remember them for the life of me.
This may be wishful thinking, but after the end of episode 10 I do have a nagging voice in the back of my head now screaming, more than ever, that Amon isn’t really energybending. I had this theory around the beginning of the series, based on those blueprints we see towards the end of a certain episode during an equalist meeting, that Amon was building a device to steal a bender’s energy.
While that’s only one theory, and not my strongest considering how much tech has appeared in their arsenal since then, there’s also the matter of it just being a particularly advanced form of chi-blocking. The technique is not exactly the same as Aang’s, though it’s never really implied that it should be of course. The ‘Avatar only’ thing is also a rather poor excuse, since Amon could be anybody. I’m actually more concerned about his background than I am his facial appearence/WHO he is.
If it is energybending, however, I would LOVE to see season 2 focus around the actual source of bending itself as a kind of sub-plot. It’s implied that Korra’s going to go into the Avatar state in the finale after she shut her eyes, so she may have enough spirituality by season 2 to go visit the Spirit World for a period of time? Although spirits can’t bend, I do believe that the answer to restoring everyone’s bending powers would lie in the spirit world. Bending is gifted from somewhere, right? It’s a fictional world; if bending can be taken away, I also believe it can be given back or even gifted. It may not be good for the world, but oh well. Just give it back to Lin, and Tahno provided he behaves himself. =P

He/she… has a point, you know. XD; And all the metalbenders are pretty much being wiped out like the airbenders were, it could take YEARS to teach someone metalbending also. Wow, Lin’s life sucks atm. XD

Lin was kind of tearing through their airships so yes, Amon DID ‘have a reason’ to take her bending. =P Also, this is Amon, come on. However, LIIIIIN, NOOOO!…
*Nod* While it is true that this was extremely tragic and Lin’s lost a whole lot of power, Toph was a visually impaired young girl in ATLA with a (well, debateably, I’m probably wrong) more defensive style of fighting. Her earthbending was her only way of seeing the world around her and being able to fight/defend herself properly. Whereas… Lin’s a fully-grown, able woman with however many decades of police work behind her, give her a few weapons and other sweet resources and she’s set for badassery again. =)
